2011 SayXchange Participants Are Returning Home
SayXchange Return Orientations took place in Johannesburg from the 9th to the 11th December 2011. The participants met up with each again after spending 5 months in Malawi, Mozambique and South Africa. The purpose of the orientation was to allow the participants to reflect on their experiences and to share their future plans in terms of contributing in their communities.
In 2011, sayXchange extended to Malawi. 4 Malawian participants volunteered for five months in community service projects within the Gauteng region of South Africa.
SayXchange seeks to promote people-based regional integration and a southern African regional identity amongst young people. It also builds bridges between communities by boosting intercultural understanding. SayXchange is an initiative of the Southern Africa Trust in collaboration with AFS Interculture South Africa.
