Amanda completed Grade 12 at Willowridge High School in 2009. She volunteered once a week to do community work in an informal settlement in her area. She was also active in several community activities through her church. Amanda is a member of TESDA Youth Club which caters for homeless children between 2 – 16 years in Ongevafte, an area on the outskirts of Pretoria.
Associação Moçambicana para Desenvolvimento da Família (AMODEFA) is a non-governmental organisation whose mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals by campaigning for sexual and reproductive health in addition to rights through advocacy, particularly for poor and vulnerable people. AMODEFA provides space for various youth interests to have a voice and to challenge exclusion and discrimination in Mozambique.

Youth Action Movement (YAM) is a non-profit youth organisation that supports youth civic participation by enabling young people to advocate and be recognised. They empower young people to be equal partners in programmatic decision-making and resource allocation, at regional level.

Celso completed high school in 2008. He has strong passion for voluntary work; he has a total of 12 years of volunteerism. Celso’s involvement in grass root level activities in his community was motivated by the need to improve the living conditions of his community. He joined sayXchange to learn other ways to address social problems, which he will implement back in Maputo. He is a vibrant teacher who is enthusiastic about learning new things.
Displaced and Migrant People Support Programme (DMPSP) offers assistance to victims displaced by conflict, economic migration, natural disasters and calamities. DMPSP strives to ensure the protection of rights for displaced and migrant persons.

Constancio completed high school in 2008. He lived briefly in the UK on a global exchange scholarship doing voluntary work. He has a devoted interest in community development. His dream is to make positive contributions to his community’s development by innovative means.
Love Life is an HIV prevention initiative for young people in South Africa. It fosters a sustained and high-powered campaign with nationwide community-level outreach and support programmes to promote healthy, HIV-free living among South African teens.

Domingos completed high school in 2008. He has been an active volunteer for AMODEFA. Domingos is interested in addressing problems in society; he is enthusiastic to share and learn from his experiences in both Mozambique and South Africa. He aspires to study psychology after the exchange programme.
